A natural maternity session | Maternity photography

While everyone dreams of a beautiful maternity photography session among flowers and rows of green trees, sometimes the dates just don’t line up.  Moms of winter babies (like me!) deserve beautiful maternity photos, too….so I met this family on a very cold day for a session.  Luckily, the sun was out and it made for gorgeous photos, even with bare trees and biting wind.  I’m not going to lie, I tried to talk them into rescheduling because it was SO cold, but I’m glad we didn’t in the end.  This mom looked so cute in her casual clothes!  You don’t need a fancy maternity gown, props, or anything else.  The Palatine area has so many lovely forest preserves, and they look great all year long.  I never tell people to wait to get photos done, we can do them outside at any time of year!  All we need is a mild day, or in this case, a snowsuit for the little one!  The icing on the cake for this session was the awesome sunset we captured on the way back to our cars.  Seriously!  It made all the shivering worth it.
