My sister in law is having her first baby in less than two months, you might remember seeing her impromptu maternity mini session here. On a recent visit to Illinois for Easter (and her baby shower!) I made some time to take her ‘real’ maternity photos. We weren’t feeling up to scouting a fancy location, but luckily her condo backs up to a fabulous open prairie! Steps from her door, I was able to get wonderful images in the golden hour sun. We had an unseasonably warm day in the upper 50s, which was perfect since the maternity gown I had for her to wear doesn’t offer much warmth. She is a gorgeous mama, and everything including the setting, the gown, and the light came together beautifully. I am so glad I was able to capture these images for her. I can’t wait to meet her baby girl!
I am always trying to push myself out of my comfort zone with my post processing, for this image I wanted to create a dramatic look. I love how she looks like an angel in a storm.

I am totally in awe of this latest photo shoot with her sister-in-law. Sara captured the mood perfectly and has the ability to match the setting with her subjects.
